After an upgrade & refit right here in the Geraldton shipyard, the Dhu Force was relaunched on Friday 3rd February 2023 & has been added to the vessels in the Eco Abrolhos fleet.
The Dhu Force, a 17.3m (60ft) Conquest, was purchased by Eco Abrolhos to deliver fishing experiences and snorkelling tours at the Abrolhos Islands. The new vessel represents a major improvement in passenger comfort & safety over its previous 12m vessel and is surveyed for 33 passengers & 4 crew.
Initially, the Dhu Force will support the existing popular 5-day Abrolhos Islands tours & then later in 2023 the vessel will be used to deliver Guided Day tours to the Houtman Abrolhos National Park.
Keep a lookout for the Abrolhos Islands day trips to be launched later in the year. Day trips will include return flights, a pot pull, snorkelling, guided Eco tours ashore in the National Park taking in the fauna and mutinous history of the Batavia and of course a crayfish lunch.
The management & staff at Eco Abrolhos are excited to expand the business operations to showcase the Abrolhos Islands and aspire to be a driving force in improving Geraldton’s standing as an eco- tourism destination. The goal is to increase the profile of the Houtman Abrolhos Islands National Park and encourage travelers to stay longer in Geraldton, adding to the regions tourism economy & employment opportunities.
